Chipotle Hummus Recipe w/ variations

**Be sure to read the last post and share various natural cancer healing options with those who need this information. There are 6 or 7 resources-Most from medical doctors.
No liability assumed in sharing research or personal accounts. Read disclaimer at end of last post. Thank you.

Here's a hummus recipe you might like to try. I also made a Jalapeno and Lime hummus and my first pita bread with 1 c. whole wheat flour to 2 c. white.
I saw a recipe for a pineapple, curry coconut hummus that begs my attention.
Hummus is usually made from garbanzo beans (chickpeas), but can be made with black beans, w/ no tahini (sesame seed paste) or substituting peanut, almond or cashew butter for the tahini. There are so many variations.
Serve it with warm pita squares, and crudite' -veggies for a lunch, snack or small meal.

Veggies to use: Olives, radishes, jicama, raw green beans (very alkalinizing!), carrots, celery, raw red, orange, green or yellow peppers, zucchini or cucumber slices, etc.

Mediterranean Food is some of the healthiest for you.
In my small town of Vernonia, Oregon, The Blue House Cafe, with Armenian owners make the best chicken gyros with pomegranate sauce, or beef and lamb gyros w/ Tzatziki sauce. (Made with Greek yogurt.) *They have moved into downtown Vernonia, and hope to reopen by Feb. 14th. I'll keep you posted on this blog. It's worth the trip. Vernonia is 15 min. off of Highway 26, as you're headed to the coast at Seaside.

For pictures of Vernonia Lake see:

Chickpeas or Garbanzo beans are high in protein, molybdenum and magnesium, etc.
1 cup provides 15 grams of the 50 daily grams of protein recommended.

(Since protein makes up 90% of our immune system, I use at least one serving of soy protein a day, for insurance. 60 studies show soy builds bone mass better than just calcium alone.) A quick cocoa or vanilla soy drink, (made with rice milk for me) or my favorite berry smoothie keeps my blood sugar level and gives me boundless energy. Carbs and caffeine spike the blood sugar and crash us into lethargic lizards with headaches, shakes, and a diuretic effect, flushing away that precious calcium. The only soy I recommend (for safety) is Shaklee's. (Non-GMO, water-processed on low heat to remove the anti-thyroid substance of soy, 50% calcium added to neutralize soy's acidic qualities.) Say NO to ACIDOSIS. It is deadly.

Chipotle Hummus
(Variation from internet recipe)
2 (15.5 ounce) cans garbanzo beans, drained
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup tahini (sesame-seed paste) or peanut, almond or cashew butter.
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice or lime juice
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 canned chipotle pepper in adobo sauce
(I freeze individual peppers on a cookie tray and put in a freezer bag to avoid wasting the rest of the can, thinking I will use them again later…)
2 cloves garlic-I use much more per individual taste. Garlic is an anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-bacterial agent. Also known to bring blood pressure down and thins blood.
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
1 (7 ounce) jar roasted red bell peppers, drained
I broiled a red pepper and peeled it=less money.
6 oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes, drained
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
1/2 teaspoon salt- (I use sea salt.)
ground black pepper to taste

Place the garbanzo beans, water, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, chipotle pepper, garlic, and cumin in the bowl of a food processor; blend until smooth. Add the red peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, cilantro, salt, and pepper. Pulse the mixture until the ingredients are coarsely chopped into the hummus base. Transfer to a serving bowl, cover, and chill until ready to serve. Can drizzle olive oil on top and garnish with cilantro and tomatoes or roasted red pepper.

Flu Shots: Sense, or Insanity?

**Even though the flu shot period is over, this is very important information to know and share.

"It is that time of year again when many people are making the decision about whether to receive the flu shot. Our hope in providing the following article is to provide you with facts that will better enable you to make informed decisions.

The flu vaccine, consumed faithfully by the public without question each year, is not without problems. The vaccine contains formaldehyde, a known cancer causing agent. It also contains the preservative thimerosal, a derivative of mercury, a known neurotoxin linked to brain damage and autoimmune diseases. Aluminum is another flu vaccine ingredient and is also a toxic heavy metal that has been associated with an increased incidence of Alzheimer's Disease.

The influenza epidemic that hit North America so strongly in January 2000 was the worst in 5 years. Of interest is the fact that a large percentage of the elderly that contracted the flu did so despite having had their flu shots. One nursing home in Toronto recorded 32 cases of the flu; of those who became ill, 31 had been vaccinated against the flu the month before.

Please make an informed decision about this, and have all your questions answered. Vaccines are drugs and can come with side effects that can impact your health now and in the future. We have numerous articles available to you to help you decide what is best for you and your family.

Don't forget - inside of us, we already have everything we need to be truly healthy and an immune system that is designed to fight infection !

ACCORDING TO HUGH FUDENBURG, MD - the world's leading immunogeneticist and 13th most quoted biologist of our time (nearly 850 papers in peer review journals) - If an individual has had 5 consecutive flu shots between 1970 - 1980 (the years of the study) his/her chance of developing Alzheimer's Disease is 10 times greater than if they had 1, two or no shots. When asked why Dr. Fudenberg stated that it is due to the mercury and aluminum buildup that is in EVERY flu shot (and in almost all childhood shots). The gradual mercury and aluminum buildup in the brain causes cognitive dysfunction. ALZHEIMERS is now expected to QUADRUPLE.

Dr. Fudenberg's comments are from his speech at the NVIC International Vaccine Conference, Arlington VA September, 1997.

Alzheimers to Quadruple statement is from the John's Hopkins Newsletter of November, 1998.

Why not build the immune system with Shaklee's new Immune Building Complex, Immunity I, or Nutriferon, or have Defend and Resist tabs in your medicine chest. The Echinacea/herbal blend can be swallowed, sucked on or made into a tea. Some use Vitamin C and Garlic.

Warnings on the internet include possible internal bleeding and death when combining the Flu Shot with blood thinners like Coumadin.

Vitamin C Therapy

Please view the JPG file at the beginning of the blog on Medication-Induced Nutrient Deficiencies and share with all the people you care about.

The following article comes from over 3000 in my files.

My 'magic bullet' for treating sinus infections are 2 Shaklee time-released gel diffusion Vitamin C, 2 Garlic capsules (anti-viral, fungal, bacterial) and 1 Nutriferon. It's gone the next day.
Some like Shaklee's D&R (Defend and Resist) with Echinacea, etc.
Some use the Immunity I. There are a lot of immune boosters in the 'natural' arsenal.
I'll post a blog on the differences in Vitamin C.
I will also post a product that brought PSA levels down to save a man from Prostate Biopsies, and helps w/ protecting the blood vessels for those with diabetes.
For now, I'd like to see the movie, 'Religulous' by Bill Maher, so I'm off to Portland.

Dr. Andrew Saul, Ph.D.

If so, why haven't you heard more about it? Why haven't more doctors
used Vitamin C as medicine?

Progress takes time, unfortunately. Fresh fruit was known to cure
scurvy by 1753, yet governments ignored the fact for nearly 100 years.
Countless thousands died in the meantime. The 19th century doctor who
first advocated washing one's hands between patients died ignored and in
disgrace with the medical profession. Toxic mercury was used as
medicine into the twentieth century. And so it has been.

The first physician to aggressively use Vitamin C to cure diseases was
Frederick R. Klenner, M.D. beginning back in the early 1940's. Dr.
Klenner consistently cured chicken pox, measles, mumps, tetanus and
polio with huge doses of the vitamin. While vaccines are now available
for these illnesses, please remember this was not the case in the 1940's.

The following is a list of the conditions that Dr. Klenner successfully
treated with aggressive Vitamin C therapy:

Herpes Zoster (shingles)
Herpes Simplex
Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever
Bladder Infection
Some Cancers
Ruptured Intervertebral Disc
High Cholesterol
Corneal Ulcer
Burns and secondary infections
Heat Stroke
Radiation Burns
Heavy Metal Poisoning (Mercury, Lead)
Venomous Bites (insects, snakes)
Multiple Sclerosis
Chronic Fatigue
Complications of Surgery

This seems like an impossible list of Vitamin C cures. At this point,
you can either dismiss the subject or investigate further. Dr. Klenner
chose to investigate. The result? He used massive doses of Vitamin C
for over forty years of family practice. He wrote dozens of medical
papers on the subject. A complete list of them is in the /Clinical
Guide to the Use of Vitamin C/, edited by Lendon H. Smith, M.D., Life
Sciences Press, Tacoma, WA (1988).

Medication-Induced Nutrient Deficiencies

Click on the above jpeg photo to see this partial list of medications that deplete nutrients in the body. This is a great example of why using natural whole foods and whole food supplements to heal and maintain the body can be the wiser and more desirable option.

I picked up the information about medication-induced nutrient deficiencies at the Lloyd Center Pharmacy in Portland, and in my opinion, met one of the nicest and most knowledgeable Pharmacists- Don West. This is a compounding Pharmacy which means they can mix ingredients and customize medications when the standardized fare does not suit an individual. Pharmaceuticals didn't find customizing profitable, but this service is available here. Check out the link below for their phone number and address.

Americans have become the 7-11 generation, wanting convenience of popping pills which deplete nutrients and can cause horrible side effects and withdrawals instead of giving the body what it needs. I saw a Nutritionist on YouTube talk about a book she is writing with the title, 'Are You Too Lazy to Live?'

As you see, for example, taking an aspirin a day to 'thin the blood' actually depletes folic acid, Vitamin C, iron and potassium. A healthy alternative would be to take a garlic capsule (click on the Health and Beauty link at the bottom of this blog, and put garlic in the search box) or:
Garlic also acts as an anti-fungal, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial. It has been useful in lowering blood pressure by 10% or more. Google it.

2 Garlic capsules, 2 Sustained Release Vitamin C and 1 Nutriferon morning and night for 1-2 days- is my personal 'magic bullet' when I get hit with a sinus infection, etc. It knocks it out in a day.
- (see my Shaklee Independent Distributor website-click on Gabi in the Bluebonnets or the above links)
If my immune system starts flagging, I can almost always trace it down to cheating with carbs or sugar, no exercise or environmental toxins like cig smoke or stress. I like to run life with high octane energy.

In looking for options to aspirin, I would also note a distilled fish oil for Omega-3 fatty acids, from a company known for its integrity and pure products.

"Omega-3 fatty acids are already prized by cardiologists for protecting
the heart against the inflammation that can lead to blocked arteries and
for thwarting an irregular, often fatal, heartbeat. There's growing
evidence that these polyunsaturated fats may also be helpful in
preventing complications of diabetes and in soothing the inflamed joints
of arthritis.

Now psychiatrists are also taking a closer look. Omega-3s, dubbed the
"happy" fats in some quarters, are under investigation for treating
depression, bipolar disease, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder,
alcoholism, Alzheimer's disease and even the so-called baby blues, or
postpartum depression."

Acidosis, Arthritis, Calcium and Disease

Our bones and teeth are our calcium bank. When our bodies become too acidic because of our diets, little or no exercise, stress and medications, the calcium and minerals in our bones and teeth are robbed to supply the body with what it needs to balance PH and nourish the tissues. This site discusses the need for PH balance, and that calcium loss does not show up in Xrays until it is 30-40% depleted from our bones. Doctors have said it is not important what disease we have, but the acidic environment that allows it. When we have Candida overgrowth or cancer, we most likely have a virus, fungus, bad bacteria or parasites also, as they thrive in an acidic environment. See for Dr. Hulda Clark's Parasite Cleanse. See for pictures and accounts of parasites.

A physical manifestation of acidosis is the calcium robbed from our bones, that lays down in our joints as arthritis.Gout is a very painful form of arthritis. You can heal arthritis most times without medications. Medications acidify us further, and also block nutrient formation and absorption.
Next Blog I will share from the booklet: Medication-Induced Nutrient Deficiency.

Alkaline water is the newest product being pushed it seems. Certainly removing the chlorine from our drinking water will reduce the acid we take in. A doctor lecturing on water purity said one Shaklee Alfalfa tablet (for 4 cents) would alkalinize a whole gallon of water. Alfalfa's deep roots seek out minerals in the subsoil, which are inaccessible to other plants. The average alfalfa plant has a tap root 10 to 20 feet long or more. It's important to get leaves only, and organically grown material, with no over-spray of neighboring field insecticides or herbicides. See what vitamins and minerals are in Alfalfa below. It is called the King of the Plant World.
VITAMINS found in Alfalfa:

Vitamin A - for night vision. Builds resistance to infections, especially in the respiratory tract; promotes growth ands vitality; promotes healthy skin and is essential in pregnancy.

Vitamin E - protects cells against damage from sun's radiation and air pollution; promotes heart, cardiovascular and muscle health and improved immune function; promotes muscle tone in the body; helps bring nutrients to cells and helps strengthen blood vessel walls, including capillary walls; helps proper focusing of the eyes.

Vitamin U - promotes health of body to help overcome peptic ulcers.

Vitamin B6 - helps food assimilation and protein and fat metabolism; promotes nerve and skin health; helps battle nausea symptoms.

Vitamin K - essential for blood clotting; important in liver functions; may possibly contribute to vitality and longevity.

Vitamin D - regulates the use of calcium and phosphorus in the body and is therefore necessary for the proper formation of strong and healthy teeth and bones.

MINERALS found in Alfalfa:

Calcium - builds and maintains bones and teeth; helps clot blood, aids in vitality and endurance; regulates heart rhythm, soothes nerves.

Iron - required in manufacturing hemoglobin; helps carry oxygen in the blood.

Potassium - necessary for normal muscle tone, nerves, heart action and enzyme reactions; digests fats.

Phosphorus - needed for normal bone and tooth structure. Interrelated with action of calcium and Vitamin D. Improves nourishment of nerve tissue.

Chlorine (chloride) - an essential electrolyte which cleans and purifies the body; regulates fat, sugar and starch metabolism.

Sodium - regulates fluid balance throughout body; neutralizes acids, prevents clotting of blood; activates spleen, bowels and stomach functions.

Silicon Magnesium helps body to deal with constipation; steadies the nerves; has protective effect on skin and body; stimulates brain function.

Other properties of alfalfa:

High in protein - alfalfa has 18.9% as compared to beef at 16.5%, milk at 3.3% and eggs at 13.1%. (Muscles are composed of protein and the lack of it results in fatigue and weakness.)

Oxygenation of the cell with exercise and a diet rich in whole grains, vegetables, fruit, Pacific wild-caught salmon and hormone/antibiotic-free chicken along with low stress help maintain a healthy Ph. The new rage is the Green Smoothie. I'll post on that soon, with some recipes. Wheat grass is a great detoxifier, full of chlorophyll and can be juiced in the Omega 8003 Juicer. Mercola sells them for around $235. I saw free shipping on a recent ad there. Here's the web page:
I bought a small Omega juicer a few years ago with a 10 yr. warranty, but the next one will be the Omega 8003. I want to start growing my own wheat grass. Ahh. Gardening! A container in the windowsill will do, but I have a little greenhouse to fix up. You can see the face of it on my blog

Four years ago, when I waited for my cancer surgery, I juiced and eliminated sugars and most carbs. On Thanksgiving, I made the traditional pecan pie, and thought I could just have one piece. My immune system let me know it was not okay. I got an eye infection the next day. I had to reschedule my surgery. In the winter, I loved hot chocolate, especially by the wood stove. One evening, again waiting for that dreaded surgery, I rationalized that since I had such a good dinner, surely one of those homemade cinnamon rolls and a cup of creamy cocoa would be okay with a base of good food in my stomach. The next day I woke up with a urinary tract infection. It was too easy to tip my PH and my immune system was already maxed. This was a good example of what foods hurt my immune system, (for me, a mixture of dairy and sugar is like poison) and what kind of self care I needed to stay alive. Raising 7 alone, my self care had often taken a back seat. Even now, I tend to be drawn to work or to write or socialize without being serious enough about my own health. I am working on scheduling my time and prioritizing.

Last night I made up a schedule that I will keep in this new year. A key is getting to bed on time. I have overdrawn my sleep bank already tonight. It is said, every death is a suicide. The choices we make every day determine our longevity, and our quality of life. Feel free to share what challenges you face in gaining or maintaining optimal health, and what is working for you. For me, I have been more successful with diet and getting the right food supplements. It helped to have a blood panel to see what nutrients I was low in. I send a Health Survey free of charge to help people determine which vitamins and nutrients they may need, to stay alkaline/acid balanced and healthy. I will help recommend a program for you.

Write me at and request a Survey. Click on my little granddaughter's picture below in Health and Beauty to see the products I love, including Alfalfa and Water Purifiers that are designed to remove chlorine and parasite cysts.

Great Tips. Buying a Car, WIFI boost, Peeling Hard-boiled Eggs

So it's Saturday. Ahh. My time for catching up at a slower pace, and taking care of myself.
While I drink my Alfalfa Tea, (very alkalinizing, great chlorophyll, has saponins for anti-inflammatory action) I watched some videos on that are time and money savers. I thought I'd share them:

They include closing your chip bag without a clip, upgrading your MacBook Pro's memory or RAM, picking a lock-if you have to, how to buy a new car (excellent and fun advice), making a powerful flashlight, saving money on watch-sized batteries, etc.

Here is the How to Peel an Egg easily:

Here is another helpful page: Top 10 Computer Annoyances-How to Fix Them:

I can't say enough about Mercolas' site for health info and reader discussions below the article or video.

My sister in Utah was headed for her yoga session when I talked to her this morning. I am headed for the great outdoors to walk around the lake:Vernonia Lake. Included is a snapshot of the lake in warmer months with one of the inhabitants-The Bald Eagle. My blog: will chronicle photos, wildlife and habitat info and environmental issues surrounding this local treasure. I'll include a poem about the Red-winged Blackbird for your enjoyment. I have much to write.

Arthritis, Polymyalgia, and Acidosis

Arthritis and Polymyalgia

Layering of medications is the norm in the medical field. A doctor told me a person would need a computer stronger than one at NASA to figure out the ‘polypharmacy effects’ among the drugs, and also with the body, when putting many medications together. My recommendation is to get a pharmacist for consulting about the safety of drugs and drug combinations for you and your loved ones-(they have doctorate degrees in medication-but make sure you shop around for an intelligent, knowledgeable, trustworthy one. Maybe two.)

‘Practicing’ Doctors are the number 3, (if not really #1) cause of death. Too many mistakes are seen as natural causes. Many Medical Doctors these days are operating in a conflict of interest, as they get paid well for passing out samples, and prescribing certain drugs, from Big Pharma. You can research about how Big Pharma knows what kinds of meds each doctor is prescribing. There have been thousands of dollars and gifts given to doctors to push certain drugs. The American Medical Student Association is pushing for a ban on this type of conflict of interest, knowing it has hurt and/or compromised many people’s trust in their doctors.

There are waves of certain medications. There was the big push of antidepressant use, followed by school shootings and mothers killing their own children, Ativan, Sleeping aids, Prilosec, Thyroid medications, etc. Now it's steroid use. Cortisone. Steroids are an immune suppressant, with some horrible side effects. If you pay attention to the tv commercials, and what your doctor suggests, you often can pick up the next wave of pharmaceutical marketing. Americans have been the trusting guinea pigs.
A microbiologist and doctor that I know has an educational tape called 'The Drugging of America."

The norm is giving one med, and then another for the side effects of the first drug or drugs, without acknowledging the symptoms as side effects of medication, and then prescribing more and more. Usually one doctor leaves you on the previous doctor’s medications, not stepping on hallowed ground, or taking the time to monitor the efficacy or safety of drugs you may be on. Many people for instance were left on antidepressants when they are usually only meant as a last resort, and a temporary basis. There is a doctor in Washington that did nothing but help people get off Paxil, for example. Some could not, as their hearts would race and flutter, etc.

One woman whose husband went to war two years ago was put on an antidepressant, and two years later, is on 13 medications, and having seizures. This is typical, unfortunately. Many American lives and families have been adversely affected by 'legal' drug use.

I would recommend Dr. Mercola's website. Google it, and join to get his weekly newsletter. I agree with most of what Dr. Mercola has to say. He covers many areas of health.

As for arthritis or polymyalgia, it is often from acidosis, which is caused by diet, stress, lack of exercise and medications. Acid waste lays down in the body’s tissues. There is inflammation and pain. The body tries to balance the acidity with calcium. Where does the calcium come from? Your bank account of calcium in bones and teeth, is robbed to do the job if your diet is lacking. There are two main types of arthritis: Osteo and Rheumatoid. My father was treated towards the end of his life with Lyrica and Oxycodone, which when combined cause joint and muscle pain. Side effects of medication alone can cause joint pain.

There are natural ways to treat arthritis, and acidosis in general. If someone tells you PH and acidosis isn’t a valid concern, have them watch an ambulance pick up someone having a heart attack. The person gets an injection of Calcium Chloride to neutralize the acid that is killing the heart cells. Even the IV’s are closely monitored for Ph, as an imbalance can be lethal. Also, chicken farmers take the chlorine out of the water for the flock so they don’t die early of circulatory disease. Test the chlorinated water sometime with a PH strip to see how acidic it is. Too much acid causes the body to lay down calcium deposits to ‘put out the fire’. Arthritis, bone spurs, joint pain, etc. are among the results. One doctor said the disease doesn’t matter, it’s the acid environment that has to be changed. Cancer and Candida thrive in acid environments. An Italian Oncologist interviewed by Mercola in a video, said cancer is a fungus, or a reaction to fungus.

What causes acidosis? Next blog. Write me and I'll send you info and the accounts of others and what they have used for arthritis and joint pain.

Salsa and Guacamole Recipes

This late night blogging is making me very hungry! Here is a web link to roasted salsa. The roasted touch to the onion, garlic, tomato and jalapeno sounds wonderful.

Here is a great recipe I got years ago, for Guacamole:
Mash 2 ripe avocados. Add 1/4 c. finely chopped onin, 1 T. diced tomato, 2T snipped cilantro, 2t. jalapeno with or without seeds per taste, 1/2 t. salt and 1 T. lime juice. Serve with tortilla chips or as a garnish on Enchiladas, Rellenos, Chimichangas, Burritos, Tacos, Tostadas, etc.

My schedule seems topsy turvy still, and I have to admit there are two days now without walking. The water purifier is hooked up, plants watered and cleaned up, dishes done, recycling, compost and garbages waiting for morning, and I made a great apple crisp to share with two friends today. The last of Mattie's Bean Soup is gone, as is the cornbread with chile pepper flakes. My youngest daughter is prodding me to make muffins with cranberries, though she lives in Austin and can't eat them with me. There are so many recipes to share.

I'm so new at this blogging, that I'm still unsure how to get pictures with the posts. My snowy Scappoose house picture looked huge, and disappeared last night when I posted. I'm sure I will get the hang of it.

What's your favorite late night food? I wish I had some shredded wheat (pretty processed) or hummus with veggies and pita bread. I feel like sneaking in the apple crisp.

From Green Onions to Soup

I rent rooms in my Scappoose house, and showed a man new to the area, through the place yesterday. He liked the quiet privacy of the dormer room, with its great view of the creek, rock garden and fir trees. I showed him a restaurant in town, Ixtapa, and he was nice enough to treat me to supper. I shared my love of sliced green onions on top of the chile rellenos. (They set off Eggs Benedict nicely, also.) He had a tamale and an enchilada, with the bright green onions adding their color, crunch and flavor to the yellow and white cheeses melted in red sauce. We were ravenous, waiting for our meal, eating the fresh authentic salsa and light tortilla chips, asking for another salsa, being offered another bowl of chips. Aahhhh. Mexican food heaven.

Snow began to fall as I was leaving the restaurant. We've not had this much snow in the Northwest for 40 years. I had dog food to buy for a neighbor, some greens to pick up to try a new green smoothie, and I wondered about getting home over the Vernonia Highway summit in the dark. I was not going to risk my life getting the dollar video rental back by 6pm. I ended up sharing the film 'My House in Umbria' with my room renter/friend, and stayed overnight in what I call the elf room.

My little Geo made it through the slush in the morning, 25 miles to Vernonia. I left my friend a pint of Mattie's Bean Soup that we were going to share for supper, originally, before I got sidetracked.  It's one of those hearty, easy recipes for winter that tastes better the next day, and the next....

Hello From Vernonia, Oregon

This New Year brings the birth of blogging for me. In sharing what I've learned as a single mother of 7, Elder Caregiver, Master's level Social Worker, Graduate Research Assistant in the School of Nursing at UTArlington, Sexual abuse counselor, cook, poet and writer, remodeler, Life and Health Insurance Agent, Waitress, Nutrition Consultant and Cancer survivor, I hope to make a positive difference in the lives of others and this planet. My desire is to leave this world better than I found it in some way. I welcome your open and honest comments, questions, challenges and shared experiences about nutrition and health issues.

I strive for detail and accuracy, good communication and respectful discussions. Passion is a driving force, but vulgarity or personal attacks are asked to take a distant seat to mature, researched contributions and  personal accounts.
I trust that those interested in health are on a path to healthy relating, also.
I heard recently that it is more important to be kind than it is to be right. Though I take health and healing seriously, I hope to share in ways that shape a positive atmosphere.
Happy New Year!
